A look back at Derbyshire BGT auditionees

Britain's Got Talent has been on our screens for ten years now and residents of Derbyshire have worked hard to impress the judges.

Here is a few of the contestants that captured our hearts.

Way back in 2009 Chelsea Redfern, of Stanley Avenue, Inkersall, Chesterfield, won Chesterfield’s Got Talent.

Following on from this the former pupil at Netherthorpe School in Staveley wanted to impress Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.

She took to the BGT stage in 2012 and impressed the panel with her rendition of Prince’s Purple Rain. However, she never made it through to the semi-finals.

Since leaving the show she has written several singles and released a covers EP.

Last year in the ninth series, Gianluca from Derbyshire wowed the judges with his close up magic tricks and was dubbed the “next Dynamo” by Amanda Holden.

He got four yes votes and a standing ovation from the 2,000 audience members.

One year on he is still doing magic and is available for weddings and private functions.

Double reality star Anthony Fisher from Chesterfield has been playing guitar and singing for ten years and tried his hand on both the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent but unfortunately didn’t make it through in either.

Nine-year-old Alicia Day, who lives in Derbyshire did not audition but still managed to sing in front of Simon Cowell.

The youngster has Cystic Fibrosis and thanks to the charity When You Wish Upon A Star she was whisked off to Liverpool to meet the media mogul who said she was very good and asked her why she didn’t audition properly after hearing her sing Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

This year keep a look out for James Alton, a former Butlin’s Red Coat entertainer, who cleared the second round of auditions - the one before the celebrity judging panel - so it is fingers crossed he makes it through to the Saturday night show.
