It is a format that is popular with Sixties’ artists, though strangely not the Seventies, but the Eighties are having a renaissance.

One such tour is The 80s Invasion Tour which features Big Country, Midge Ure, Nick Heyward (Haircut 100) and Ben Volpeliere-Pierrot (Curiosity Killed The Cat).

Haircut 100 had five hit singles in less than two years, with ‘Favourite Shirts’ and ‘Love Plus One’ reaching number four and three respectively.

Singer Nick Heyward left the band in 1983 and had solo hits for the next 13 years including Whistle Down The Wind and Blue Hat for a Blue Day.

Nick has been putting the finishing touches to his new album ahead of the tour.

So what can fans expect to hear on the tour? Nick said: “It’ll be a mixture of Haircut 100 songs and my solo work. I’d like to do one off my new album, but you have to do the songs people know.”

The 80s Invasion TourBen Volpeliere-Pierrot, comes to Manchester’s Opera House on Monday, March 14. For tickets, call 0844 871 3018.
