Both of the concerts by Tarantara Productions feature a 26-strong e orchestra supporting some of the country’s most accomplished and celebrated G&S singers.

Salty tars, sisters, cousins and aunts sparkle in HMS Pinafore. Redoubtable peers and peris take to the stage in Iolanthe.

The concerts contain some of the greatest melodies ever written including A Maiden Fair To See and When I Was a Lad from HMS Pinafore and The Nightmare Song from Iolanthe. With lilting melodies and razor sharp wit G&S is still as relevant to today’s audiences, as they were in the 1800s.

International soprano Rebecca Bottone whose concert engagements have included the BBC Proms and English Touring Chamber Orchestra will perform in HMS Pinafore on Saturday night.

Tarantara will also stage HMS Pinafore on Saturday at 2.30pm. Iolanthe will be staged tonight (February 4) and tomorrow at 7.30pm. Tickets from £14 to £32. Call 01298 72190 or visit www.
