NHS Derby and Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) say teams at Newholme Hospital in Bakewell have been vaccinating people unable to leave their homes instead of on-site over recent days.
A resident contacted us earlier this week after being told the hospital was not vaccinating people on-site ‘at present’.

He had contacted Newholme Hospital, on Baslow Road, about the possibility of being put on a standby list in the event ‘they had no-shows or cancellations’.
A CCG spokesperson said today: “The vaccination teams based at Newholme Hospital in Bakewell have been busy vaccinating housebound patients this week, using the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine.
"The team is carrying out vaccinations at the hospital today and over the weekend with patients who will already have booked appointments through the GP practice.

"We really appreciate people are keen to receive their vaccination, but we ask that they wait to be contacted with an appointment offer by their GP practice or the National Booking System.”
“The well-reported issues of vaccine supply are a national challenge, and vaccination sites across Derbyshire have adjusted their plans as a result to avoid delays to patients’ appointments,” the spokesperson added.
