Chesterfield records two more Covid-19 deaths

Two more people have lost their lives to Covid-19 in Chesterfield, latest figures have shown.

Most recent data released this afternoon (January 6) from NHS England revealed that the patients died from the deadly virus while being treated in Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

This brings Chesterfield's coronavirus death toll to 216.

Across the country, a further 674 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals to 53,069, NHS England said on Wednesday.

Patients were aged between 21 and 101.

All except 29, aged between 50 and 101, had known underlying health conditions.

The deaths were between November 11 and January 5.

There were 47 other deaths reported with no positive Covid-19 test result.
