Children at Buxton school enjoy British Science Week activities
Pupils at a Buxton school enjoyed a robotics session as part of British Science Week.
The theme for this year’s event was Innovating for the Future and pupils at Fairfield Endowed Junior School enjoyed the session provided by the company Junior STEM.
The children had the chance to build Lego WeDo mechanical models and learn to program sensors, motors and lights to bring them to life.
They also thought about what new innovations they would like to see in the future and the sessions also provided the pupils with ideas of what they may wish to do in the future when they are older.
A spokesperson for the school said: “The feedback from the children was extremely positive and a great time was had by all.”
British Science Week is a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths, run by the British Science Association, and featuring entertaining and engaging events and activities for people of all ages.
