New Mills woman and lingerie brand colleagues aim to raise £100,000 for charities hit by coronavirus crisis

A New Mills woman is helping to lead the warehouse where she works in a huge fundraising effort for charity.

Danielle Dover and her colleagues at Pour Moi's main distribution centre in Macclesfield have chosen four organisations which will each receive a minimum £25,000 from sales of the lingerie brand’s new collection.

One of those is the East Cheshire Hospice, where Danielle’s father Dave is a driver.

Age UK, Samaritans and RISE, a domestic violence charity in Brighton, where the company is now based, are the other charities to benefit.

Company boss Michael Thomson said: “These four charities do amazing work all year round but are now suffering from the double whammy of massive increased demand for their services and a dramatic drop in funding – both caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The Charity Edit collection is our response. It'll provide much-needed funds for the charities in their greatest hour of need as well as help publicise the sterling work that each of them does.”

The new collection includes lingerie, swimwear, loungewear and sportswear, and half of all proceeds will be shared between the charities.

East Cheshire Hospice expects to lose more than £1million in income after cancelling fundraising events due to the pandemic.
