He said: “We can go days without post and then a bundle will arrive all at once.

On October 7, the price of a first class stamp jumped a staggering 22 per cent taking the cost from £1.35 to £1.65.
Jon said: “The price is rising but the service is awful.
“The system is fundamentally wrong, you can’t charge people more but fail to deliver.
“And if there are problems with the system where you can’t afford to deliver the post every day then the Royal Mail should announce this so people know what to expect.”

It’s not just letters which are causing frustration for residents.
Those with parcels are being redirected to Macclesfield as the Royal Mail sorting office on Palace Road in Buxton is closed.
Lawrence Ewing, who owns the Buxton Sausage Company on Green Lane says the closure is impacting his business.

“It’s coming up to Christmas which is the busiest time for parcels and people don’t want to be taking two hours to go and get a parcel.
“It needs fixing and quick.”
Addressing the issues with the sorting office a Royal Mail spokesperson said: “We have temporarily moved the operation at Buxton to our delivery office in Macclesfield.
“This decision was made following a structural assessment of the building which necessitated further surveys and remediation works.
“We are working hard to limit any further disruption to customers.”
