Former Buxton pupil leads the way in cutting edge technology


The money will allow Hardy & Ellis Inventions Ltd to work with firms to install new interactive technology, transforming everyday surfaces and objects into dynamic touch-screen interfaces.
The grant, presented by the Technology Strategy Board, is part of the Creative Digital Launchpad funding scheme, which also offers Hardy & Ellis Inventions access to exclusive business networking opportunities and resources.

Hide AdThe pioneering business is a start-up founded by Lancaster University alumni Dr John Hardy and Dr Carl Ellis.
The business partners beat stiff competition from 100 other applications during a gruelling three-stage process to be awarded the funding.
Originally from Buxton, Dr Hardy studied at St Thomas More School and Kings School in Macclesfield.
He said: “The ease and convenience of touch-screen technology has transformed the design and functionality of mobile phones significantly, and we want to bring this technology to help realise new business opportunities.”
