The Peak District & Derbyshire International Travel Trade Showcase, April 26-28 2021, will provide a unique opportunity for attraction, accommodation and activity providers to meet online with tour operators, event organisers and travel buyers.

Jo Dilley, managing director of the Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire (MPDD) tourist board, said “As the travel industry gradually works towards recovery, this will provide a great platform for tourism businesses to promote their outstanding products and services to a global audience.

The showcase is being organised with support from MPDD’s European Regional Development Fund project and marketing company Tapir.

There are a limited number of fully-funded places, and each participant will be provided with their own virtual ‘stand’, displaying photographs, information and downloadable leaflets.

Prior to the event, trade representatives will be invited to register their interest and make ‘face-to-face’ appointments with individual businesses to discuss working together.

Paul Kleian, of Tapir, said: “A similar event in the Lake District earlier this year attracted over 200 travel trade buyers, proving that the appetite for events like this is strong. Feedback has been extremely positive and many buyers said that a destination-focused approach means they get a great feel for the area.
