Breedon's electrical department take on National 3 Peaks Challenge for Blythe House Hospicecare
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
The National 3 Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike), and Wales (Snowdon), one after the other, all within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, over a similar total walking distance. The total driving distance is 462 miles.
Participants can take part in the Challenge in two ways - as a self organised group, or as part of a professionally organised event. Sean, and the team have decided on the former to keep costs to a minimum so are relying on their knowledge and walking fitness rather than benefitting from the assistance provided by professional mountain guides.

The team have a designated minibus and driver, kindly provided by Breedon, so the team can rest and refuel during the road trip between the three mountains. Breedon have also provided the team with the essential kit the team will need to complete the challenge, along with a monetary donation, for which the team would like to thank them for.

Sean chose to raise funds for Blythe House Hospicecare in memory of his dear friend, Karen Byrne, who sadly lost her life to cancer five years ago at only 48 years of age. The Hospice were supportive to both Karen and her family, and with having to raise over £5,479 every day for them to continue to provide free care and services to local families, Sean and the team wanted to give something back.
Donations can be made by clicking on the link below, ensuring all monies go direct to the Hospice.
