Awards success for Whaley Bridge restaurant
A South Asian restaurant in Whaley Bridge has been crowned the region’s best.
Zayka Fine Dining was named the East Midlands winner in the prestigious Tiffin Cup competition.
The restaurant, which was nominated by MP Andrew Bingham, attended the grand final at the House of Commons, when the owner, Mahanesh Mahipal, cooked for a panel of celebrity judges which included TV chef Ainsley Harriott and actress Nina Wadia.
Mr Bingham said: “Mahanesh works really hard to ensure his restaurant serves the best food possible, and to get this award shows the quality of the restaurants we have here in the High Peak.”
