Apprentices go behind the scenes at Buxton quarry
Apprentices from the world’s largest dealer of Caterpillar equipment went behind the scenes at Lafarge Tarmac’s Tunstead Quarry in Buxton recently.
The employees from Finning’s Leeds and Chesterfield branches took part in seminars about the operations of the quarry and were taken on a tour of the workshop.
The visit was part of a new agreement between the companies to promote best working practice, which will see representatives from Tunstead tour a Finning fluid analysis laboratory in Leeds.
Peter Butterworth, Stone Operations Manager at Lafarge Tarmac, said: “Sharing best practice can only benefit both parties in the long term.”
