The annual event which is watched by around 20,000 people is credited with offering hilarious comedy routines, colourful dance numbers and catchy songs, together with a comical round-up of the year’s events.

Aladdin tells the famous tale of a poor laundry boy who finds a magic lamp. When he gives it a rub, out pops a genie who grants him three wishes. But will he use his wishes wisely enough to win the girl of his dreams, the beautiful Princess Jasmine?

This year’s pantomime stars Kelsey Beth Crossley (Emmerdale and The Voice) together with James Holmes (best known as Clive from Miranda).

You could be forgiven for thinking the panto stars will spend New Year’s Eve on the Opera House stage; but ‘they do go to the ball’ too, since the world famous British Philharmonic Orchestra takes to the stage for a New Year’s Eve Gala on that night.

We’ve teamed up with Buxton Opera House to win a family ticket for four to see Aladdin on New Year’s Eve day at 1pm.

Simply answer the following question.

What does Aladdin famously fly on?

A. Magic chair

B. Magic curtain

C. Magic carpet

Email your answer along with your name to: [email protected] by December 23 at 1pm, to be in with a chance of winning. The lucky winner will be notified by email.
