Spooky treats at Chatsworth this half-term holiday

Halloween happenings are in evidence all over the house, garden and farmyard.

Who will dare to explore the Scarecrow graveyard and the abandoned tunnel in the garden?

Children can get a scary makeover with the daily face painting and thrill to spooky storytelling before searching out the pumpkins hidden around the garden, available daily throughout half term.A must for any fledging witches and wizards will be the Broomstick making demonstrations, held on both weekends (24-25 October and 31 October-1 November).

Creepy crafts to make, slithery snakes and scary spiders to hold and the Web Weaver to meet and more face painting too, it’s all happening in the farmyard.

The Fright Flight, pictured, takes regular trips up to Warlock Wood for those keen to spot the spooky Spell Weaver and her ghoulish friends lurking in between the trees. Running daily until October 31, boards at the farmyard will be displaying times.

If the weather turns nasty, discover the macabre Halloween trail through the house with man traps, a 16th Century book of spells and more.

Venture indoors for the final opportunity to see the Make Yourself Comfortable exhibition of designer chairs which is running u ntil Friday, October 23.

There’s also just a few days left to see the Beyond Limits sculpture exhibition in the grounds of Chatsworth which ends on October 25.
