New season with spring in its step

February sees the return of the Four Four Time Festival of Live Music from Saturday February 15 to February 22, featuring performances from well-known names including Kiki Dee, Toploader, Brian May and Kerry Ellis, Brand New Heavies and The South.

Other music events during the new season include the renowned Bootleg Beatles, Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers, Blake Live in Concert and The 7th Buxton Soul Night.

Family shows range from Postman Pat, the Moscow State Circus and Dotty The Dragon to The Sooty Show, The Jungle Book and The Gruffalo.

Comedy is hot on the agenda with belly laughing encouraged from the likes of Shappi Khorsandi, Mark Thomas, Rich Hall, Sean Walsh, Barry Cryer and Ken Dodd.

Eye-popping dance includes The Russian State Ballet with Don Quixote, Giselle and Swan Lake, Balletboyz’s –The Talent and the return of the prestigious Birmingham Royal Ballet.

For lovers of drama, there’s Ladies in Retirement starring Katy Manning and Shirley Anne Field, Sherlock Homes, farcical Who’s Who!, the spooky Devil at Midnight and a completely new show Faulty Towers - The Dining Experience for audiences to dine to a drama.

Other plays include Entertaining Mr Sloan and Rising Damp.

The new programme for December 2013 to June 2014 is available now from the Buxton Opera House Box Office.
