Live music gigs at Buxton Opera House and Pavilion Arts Centre
The Claire Lynch Band will be offering a Friday night treat. Described by Dolly Parton as one of the ‘sweetest, purest and best lead voices in the music business’, GRAMMY nominated bluegrass singer Claire Lynch is doing a short tour of UK with Buxton lucky enough to be scooping a date on August 28 at 7.30pm.
Ian McNabb, lead singer of The Icicle Works, will perform music from his critically aclaimed albums on Saturday, September 5 at 7.30pm. Support will come from jazz pianist Louis Gordon and violinist Graham Clark, firm favourites on the Buxton acoustic scene.

Hide AdFor those who enjoy jazz and classical music, Pavilion Arts centre offers the chance to see recitals and concerts each month. Coming up on Sunday, September 6, will be jazz trio Chronology offering Blue Note standards with smooth Latin rhythms. For classical music fans Polaris Duo on Friday 11 September delights with a beautiful combo of harp and saxophone.
The sound of ‘The Big O’ will fill the Opera House on Sunday, September 13, when Barry Steele’s Roy Orbison and Friends performs.
Bellowhead’s fiddle player Sam Sweeney (BBC Radio 2 Folk Musician of the Year) will be in concert the following evening when he will be exploring music and narrative based around stories from the First World War.
BRIT Award-winning trio Blake are also back at the Opera House on Tuesday, September 15.
