Guitar star Woods gets in the groove at Green Man Gallery
Chris Woods blends ear-bending dropped tuned grooves with endearing stories to create his performances. There is an eerie feel to his music: a dark jazz texture driven by explosive guitar percussion.

Hide AdThe gig at The Green Man is part of his latest UK tour, ‘Stories for Solo Guitar’.
Woods will be supported by David James Riley, an up-and-coming singer/songwriter from Sheffield.
Gallery events co-ordinator Caroline Small said: “Although The Green Man Gallery is a very small venue it’s a very good one as the acoustics and atmosphere are very special.

Hide Ad“We can only seat 45 people but more and more touring artists are getting to hear about us and are keen to perform at the gallery.”
Woods is also offering a pre-show workshop for local guitarists. ‘Guitar, Tea and Biscuits’ will offer a chance to pick up new techniques and talk guitar for an hour before the gig. The workshop is free, with donations invited to his educational fund.
