
She will be backed by a full band when she sings at the town’s Art Theatre on Saturday, September 12.
Toyah will be performing greatest hits from her 30-year career which include It’s A Mystery, Thunder in the Mountains and I Want To Be Free.
The concert promises to be a highlight of the fortnight-long festival which celebrates the cultural and community spirit of New Mills.
Activities kick off on Friday, September 11, with a Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea Party at The Cakery from 2pm to 4pm and an art trail which turns the town into a gallery.

There will be children’s cinema in the community centre on Sunday, September 13, from 10am to 12 midday and a concert featuring Cliff Brass at the Providence United Reformed Church on Monday, September 14, at 7.30pm.
A bubble fest is scheduled for High Lea Park on September 19 at 1pmand a guided tour of the lost pubs of New Mills takes the form of a free walk on September 21, leaving Newtown Station at 10.30am.
Lantern-making workshops will be held in the run-up to a parade on September 26 at 7.30pm.
