The three-day event, which was successfully held last year, arose from the development of the village’s parish plan, a community-based effort to create activities and new interests for the people living in and around the village.

This year’s programme opens on Friday September 12 at 2pm with a tea dance at Disley Community Centre, with music provided by the ‘Dad’s Armony’ duo. At the same time, The Ellesmere String Quartet will entertain an audience at Dystlegh Grange.

Disley Community Centre will host a junior disco for under-13s at 6.30pm, followed by an evening of jazz in the clubhouse at Disley Golf Club from 8pm with local favourite Mart Rodger and his Manchester Jazz band.

Unbeatable Energy will lead a series of three workshops teaching ethnic drumming skills at Disley Methodist Church Hall on Saturday September 13, commencing at 10am.

The evening entertainment is a Hoe Down at Disley Amalgamated Club, with well-known local band The Lamplighters providing the music for a variety of English and Irish folk dances.

Doors open at 7.30pm, with the music getting underway at 8pm.
