Chorus roles up for grabs in Buxton panto

Young dancers hoping for their big break are being invited to audition for chorus roles in this year’s Buxton Opera House pantomime.

Jack and the Beanstalk, starring CBeebies star Joseph Elliott, will run from Thursday December 11 to Saturday January 3.

Auditions for the juvenile chorus will take place on Sunday June 22 at the Pavilion Arts Centre, between 3pm and 6pm. They are open to young dancers between the ages of nine and 15 who are over 4’ 8” in height. Candidates will not be eligible if they turn 16 before January 3, 2015.

Applicants must be available over the weekend of October 17-19 and be prepared to take part in intensive rehearsals between November 17 and December 10.

Prior to the first performance the chorus will be split into two teams which will share performances. A nominal fee will be payable for each public performance as a contribution towards expenses.
