BUXTON FRINGE 2014: Festival of music at St Peter’s Church

St Peter’s Church in Fairfield is hosting its very own music festival as part of the Buxton Festival Fringe.

The event opens on Saturday July 12 with a celebration of choral music by The New Chamber Choir.

Folk singer, guitarist and comedian Keith Donnelly will perform on Monday July 14, followed on Tuesday July 15 by blues, folk and rock act Blue John, with support from White Demon and the Wolf.

Choirs from Fairfield Endowed and Dove Holes schools will sing on Wednesday July 16, followed in the evening by Susie and the Bad Habits, with support from classical guitarist Steve Vardy.

Jazz swing trio Jazznotes will close the festival on Friday July 18.

Performances start at 7pm, apart from the children’s choir performance which begins at 1.30pm. Admission is £5 (children free) on the door, with proceeds in aid of church funds. Refreshments will be available.

There will also be a concert on Sunday July 13, entitled WWI Moments in Time, and a performance on Thursday July 17 of folk and gospel music by Flynn’s Tones, with support from Rick Bateman. Both will be raising money for Fairfield war memorial fund.
