Many a student room in the Sixties and Seventies were filled by Bridget’s distinctive music. She recorded three albums on John Peel’s Dandelion label from 1969-72 including her debut album Ask Me No Questions, before moving to New York.

An accomplished guitar player, Bridget recorded a large number of BBC Radio Session and she credits John Martyn and Michael Chapman as her ‘musical brothers’.

Michael Chapman will be also on the bill at the Pavilion Arts Centre, Buxton, on Saturday, June 6.

A masterful and atmospheric finger-picking guitarist and great bluesy singer, Michael first became known on the London and Cornish folk circuits in 1967.

He signed to EMI’s Harvest label, recording a quartet of classic albums. LPs like Rainmaker and Wrecked Again defined him as a melancholic observer, mixing intricate guitar instrumentals with a full band sound.

Michael Chapman and Bridget St John’s concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets £14, call 01298 72190 or book online at
