BBC folk award nominee Cara Dillon to sing in Derby’s Guildhall Theatre

Cara Dillon, who has been nominated for singer of the year in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2015, will be performing in Derbyshire as part of a nationwide tour.

She will air tracks from her latest critically-acclaimed album A Thousand Hearts in concert at Derby’s Guildhall on Sunday, February 22.

Describing how performing in smaller places affects her, Cara said: “Being in an intimate venue is where I feel most comfortable. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a thrill to perform on big stages but I absolutely love the moments when I can drift away from the audience and totally lose myself in a song...there’s nothing like it.”

Her fourth album, Hill Of Thieves, won BBC Folk Album of the Year in 2010.
