Baz is back - and you’ll be left crying for more

Having started his career as a bottom billing act at London’s Windmill Theatre whilst writing in his spare time, Cryer was soon selling material to a host of names including Danny La Rue, Frankie Howerd, Ronnie Barker, Tommy Cooper and Les Dawson.

Cryer’s performing career took off too, with a host of TV and theatre jobs including performing in the BBC series Hello Cheeky with Buxton’s Tim Brooke-Taylor. He has also been a regular panellist on Sorry I Haven’t a Clue since its inception in 1972.

In yet another farewell tour, the writer and comedy genius will appear with pianist Colin Sell, also of Sorry I Haven’t a Clue fame.

Having been charged with persistent joking, Cryer asks that 20 other shows be taken into consideration. The audience is the judge and jury; be merciful to the aged accused – he merely seeks to bring a ray of sunshine amid the dark clouds of life.

Awarded the OBE in 2001 for services to comedy drama, Cryer is still doing his thing – performing in theatre and nightclubs, radio and television and as an after-dinner speaker.
