New Mills are held by Daisy Hill in entertaining draw

Nathan Neequaye and Jack McConnell notched the goals as New Mills were left frustrated in an entertaining draw against Daisy Hill on a heavy pitch at New Sirs.

While elated to have battled back from a goal down to lead 2-1, Gareth Cross and Nick Dowse and their squad were left to rue the missed opportunities and defensive errors that allowed Daisy Hill to score twice and earn a point in a game the Millers dominated.

The home side took the lead on 41 minutes through Jordan Donnelly and they held on to that lead until the half-time interval.

While Daisy Hill remained a threat on the counter attack, the Millers grew steadily in confidence and levelled the scores on 55 minutes through Neequaye.

Less than five minutes later and it was 2-1, McConnell capping another lively performance with a goal straight from the top drawer.

But it was the home side who grabbed a point late on with Donnelly grabbing his second of the afternoon.

Despite more late Millers pressure they were unable to grab the third goal arguably warranted by such a dominant second half performance.
