A signed diversion route is planned for heavy goods vehicles, along the A5004 Long Hill road with local diversions in place for smaller vehicles.

The road is being closed to allow Derbyshire police’s collision investigation unit to carry out a reconstruction of the collision, in which Mr Higton sadly died.

The 40-year-old lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Witnesses to the collision or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101, quoting reference 16000363257.
