Pride of Buxton Awards will return
Organisers say volunteers and people who go above and beyond to the help the community will be celebrated at a glittering awards ceremony in October 2019.
The awards will be organised by Voluntary and Community Services Peaks and Dales, VCS - and The Advertiser is proud to give its support once again.

Hide AdDelighted Debbie Hackett, business development manager for VCS, said: “I’m so pleased to say the Pride of Buxton Awards will be returning.
“We are a very small community so we made the decision to hold the awards bi-annually because we want to the awards to remain fresh, exciting and interesting with new people being nominated and hearing different stories.”
More than 200 nominations were received for the inaugural awards, which were presented at a special recognition evening in the Devonshire Dome.
No decision has been made for a venue for next year’s awards but planning and preparations have already started.

Hide AdDebbie said: “We are going to try and pull out all the stops and build on the success from last year and I would love to get a celebrity chef on board too.”

Hide AdThe awards will also act as a vital fundraiser for VCS and last year the awards night raised more than £3,600.
Debbie added: “We raised a great amount of money but with more threats our funding hanging over our head we really want to make this work.
“As with last year we are looking for sponsors at £250 for each award and we love to get the ball rolling and bank some sponsors now.”
Nominations for the awards will open August 1, 2019.
