Kindness of care home staff really touched me
and live on Freeview channel 276
My father had to be admitted to a care home after a fall. Unfortunately, due to lockdown I was unable to visit him as the home is in Solihull.
I decided to write to him everyday with news about the family, his cat, his garden - all the things I would have said if I could have been there. I wrote on the envelope, 'Carers please read to my dad because I can't be there.'

I find it hard to describe my thanks to the carers who genuinely took time to read my words to my dad. They are so busy and overstretched and yet they found time to talk to me, get to know my dad and give dad the security of knowing his family loved him and were thinking of him.
I want to let carers know that it means so much to the families who can't be there.
