Folk duo Lizzie Nunnery and Vidar Norheim to play at Glossop Labour Club

Acclaimed folk musicians Lizzie Nunnery and Vidar Norheim will play in the High Peak.

They head the Glossop Defiance Sessions at the town’s Labour Club on Saturday, September 26.

The duo’s first album Company of Ghosts was nominated for Best Debut in the Spiral Earth Awards, and Radio 2’s Mike Harding listed it in his top 10 albums of the year.

Their second album Black Hound Howling, combined ballads of apocalypse with anti-capitalist anthems and beat poetry.

Their latest release is a politically charged EP called Songs of Drink and Revolution - perfect for the popular Defiance Sessions night in Glossop.

Also playing a few songs will be Defiance host Matt Hill aka Quiet Loner.

Doors are at 7pm. The music will finish at around 10 when the night hands over to resident DJ Simon Galloway (Glossop Record Club) for ‘Soul Power’ - revolutionary inspired tunes from the golden era of 1960s and 70s soul.
