THE popular Victorian drama Cranford opens at Buxton Opera House tonight (Thursday). The show by Ian Dickens Productions will run until May 21, at 7.30pm each night, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
Loose yourself in this witty and poignant comedy of early Victorian life in the genteel English country market town of Cranford. Inhabited largely by women, the community thrives on cooperation and gossip.
The domestic peace is constantly threatened by financial disaster, long-lost relatives, imagined burglaries, births and marriages.
Tickets, priced from £12 to £17, are available on 0845 127 2190 or online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
