Twice the fun

CHAPEL-EN-LE-FRITH Male Voice Choir and the Dark Peak Orchestra and Concert Band will perform together at a concert on Sunday February 6 at St John’s Church, Buxton, at 7pm.

Roger Briscoe’s choir will be performing their first concert of the year after their successful sell-out Christmas Concert at Buxton’s Pavilion Arts Theatre.

Martin Mullis, Vice Chairman of Chapel-en-le-Frith Male Voice Choir, said: “We are excited to be working with some of the most dedicated and promising young musicians in the region.”

The Dark Peak Orchestra and Concert Band are each a 40-strong group of young people between the ages of 12 and 18, directed by Jeff Snowden, and all hail from the Glossop, New Mills, Hayfield and Chapel-en-le-Frith areas.

The concert will feature pieces from Les Miserables, as well as popular classical pieces and some contemporary music arranged for the band and the orchestra.

Tickets for the concert on February 6 can be purchased on the door, priced £5 or £1 for accompanied under-16s.
