AN EX-ARMY captain is to relive his epic 4,000-mile journey along the Amazon River when he embarks on a debut theatre tour which arrives at Buxton Opera House on Monday June 20, at 8pm.
British explorer Ed Stafford is the first human known to walk the entire length of the Amazon River in South America, from its source to the sea. His epic, dangerous and exhausting journey was over 4,000 miles long, took 860 days to complete and is the longest jungle expedition ever recorded.
Ed will relive his remarkable journey through his “audience with...” style lecture show, Walking the Amazon, presented by adventure-based speakers specialists, Speakers from the Edge, tying-in with the release of Ed’s book of the same name to be released next month, following a two-part Discovery Channel documentary Walking the Amazon, which ran on Discovery earlier this year and is due to be aired on Channel Five, also in June.
Tickets for Ed Stafford - Walking the Amazon are priced £15 and available from the Box Office on 0845 127 2190 or online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
