Starship enterprise separates sisters

A new show about family and space exploration by a multi award-winning theatre company will be staged in New Mills.

The audience will be welcomed to a leaving ‘do’ by a gardener who has stayed in her home village her whole life, but is now saying goodbye to her globetrotting sister who is leave for outer space.

Entitled Launch Party, the show is about how relationships stretch with distance and whether they can be broken by lack of communication. The themes are inspired by The Golden Record, a recording carried on the Voyager spacecraft offering alien life a snapshot of the sounds and music which represent human life.

Farnham Maltings Theatre has its own, acclaimed style, as brought to two rural tours: It’s A Wonderful Lifeand The Iranian Feast. Associate company Bucket Club are an award-winning emerging company with a growing reputation for work which is, above all, playful (and contains music at its core).
