A programme of renowned speakers has been revealed for the Buxton Festival’s new literary weekend.
The three-day event at the Pavilion Arts Centre opens on Friday October 31 with a captivating talk by journalist and broadcaster Kirsty Wark and an entertaining evening show by radio and TV star Nicholas Parsons.
Leading 60s model Sandra Howard discusses high society in Kennedy’s America on the morning of Saturday November 1, followed by international bestselling author Jung Chang discussing her latest book on the fascinating Empress Dowager Cixi and Jonathan Aitken’s insider view of Margaret Thatcher’s story.
The Saturday afternoon line-up features the outspoken and hilarious novelist Kathy Lette with her latest novel Courting Trouble, followed in the evening by the hugely-popular and wicked comedy Seven Deadly Sins Four Deadly Sinners from four deadly and well-known temptresses who are yet to be announced.
The weekend will end with a lunch at the Old Hall Hotel, including a three-course meal and entertaining talks by Matthew Parris, Nicholas Parsons and a third surprise guest.
