The British Philharmonic Orchestra (Much Loved Productions Ltd) delighted the audience at the fantastic New Year’s Eve Gala Concert at the Buxton Opera House.
The enterprising and very varied program was presented by Mark Langley, with his witty verse and the conductor was Anthony Kraus. A special mention should go to Jennifer France the soprano who is exceptionally talented and also to Jeremy Peaker the baritone. The concert charmed the audience with a showcase of samplings from favourite works including The Marriage of Figaro, Carmen, My Fair Lady, Phantom of The Opera, Star Wars, Pirates of Penzance and James Bond.
Along with the familiar favourites the New Year rang in with style performed with the traditional gusto. The musicians were clearly enjoying the evening just as much as the audience. There was of course the usual cheer, party poppers, balloons and at midnight Auld Lang Syne.
A truly fabulous, memorable evening all at an affordable price.
