Buxton may not have the International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival this summer, but a talented youth theatre group will still be providing three excellent G&S shows in Buxton, Chapel-en-le Frith and New Mills in July and August.

PBTheatricals will be performing Trial by Jury on July 25 at St Thomas More School in Buxton at 6.30pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm; Pirates of Penzance at the Art Theatre, New Mills, on August 2 at 7.15pm and August 3 at 2.15pm; and HMS Pinafore at Chapel Playhouse, Chapel-en-le-Frith, on August 9 at 7.30pm and at St Thomas More School on August 10 at 7pm.

A not-for-profit theatre company, PBTheatricals is run entirely by volunteers and caters for young performers aged between ten and 30.

The productions are cast, rehearsed and performed during two weeks of the school summer holidays.

Committee member Melanie Chetwood said: “If you are missing the Gilbert & Sullivan Festival, come and support these talented youngsters instead, who are doing a brilliant job of keeping the Gilbert & Sullivan tradition alive in Buxton.”

Tickets for Trial by Jury are £5 from Buxton Opera House or on the door. Tickets for Pirates of Penzance and HMS Pinafore are priced between £6 and £9 and can be purchased at or on the door.

Any young performers wishing to take part in the productions should visit the website for more information.
