Take a journey back in time to the Eighties and the lives of three ordinary sets of people in everyday situations.
Midland Players will present a hat-trick of plays at Chapel Playhouse, Chapel en le Frith, on June 10 and 11.
Harvey Fierstein’s work On Tidy Endings considers loss and relationships when a gay man and a straight woman meet to tidy up loose ends following the death of someone they both loved.
Startling, full of black homour and wicked satire, Harold Pinter’s last play Celebration displays a vivid zest for life. The action is set in an expe3nsive and trendy restaurant where two brothers with a shadowy background celebrate an anniversary with their wives while a banker tries to patch things up with this trophy spouse. Floating between are the restaurant’s hosts, each coping with their customers as best they can.
The bill is completed by Alan Ayckbourn’s A Talk in the Park focusing on five strangers. Despite each clearly craving company and conversation, none can put their own troubles aside to listen.
