LOCAL student Felicity Dunk is holding a charity Bavarian Evening at the Cheshire Cheese pub in Buxton tomorrow (Friday) night.
The event will feature Huddersfield Oompah band ‘Die Betrunken Wurst Band’ and will raise money for the deaf blind charity Sense. As well as the live music, there will also be prizes for the most appropriate costume.
The event starts at 9pm.
Felicity, along with 18 other students and a lecturer, is a member of the Huddersfield University Marathon Band, whose aim is to become the first marching band to complete the London Marathon on April 17.
The band have been training and fundraising since last September and all money raised will be donated to Sense. They are aiming to complete the course in under eight hours.
Felicity is a former student at St Anne’s and St Thomas More schools in Buxton and now studies music and drama at Huddersfield University. She has also previously played in Burbage Band and helped out with the beginners.
The Cheshire Cheese currently hosts a number of music events throughout the week including a jamming session on a Wednesday, jazz duos on a Thursday and live bands on a Saturday. For more information, or to donate, visit www.humb.co.uk or www.justgiving.com/Felicity-Dunk.
