Nominated for this year’s BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Duo ( having previously won in 2013 ), Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman will air their work in Buxton next week.
The pair will plug new ‘mini-album’, entitled Saved For A Rainy Day in the performance at the Pavilion Arts Centre on April 21.
Grab your chance to see them perform in the High Peak before they head off to play at The Royal Albert Hall in London for the BBC Folk Awards.
Kathryn’s sublime vocals merge seamlessly with Sean’s deft and inventive live guitar playing.
In addition to chart-topping hit records for brother Seth Lakeman, Sean has produced tracks with Levellers, Billy Bragg, Frank Turner, Imelda May and Bellowhead as well as a string of other folk and acoustic acts.
Kathryn and Sean, a married couple, are firmly established as one of folk-scene’s busiest and most respected duos, airing their sound at a variety of venues around the country.
Their show at Buxton’s Pavilion Arts Centre on Thursday next week starts at 7.30pm.
