When Helen Buteux left Buxton at the age of 18, she ended up travelling the world for many years and setting up three successful businesses on the south coast...

But in January her new life and old life will come together when one of the new rising stars of her talent management company - Rickie Arthur - performs at Buxton Opera House on his acclaimed UK tour Buble Fever.

Helen’s company, I Am Now Media, also manage The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE) star Nicola Goodger, Shipwrecked winner and TV presenter Adam Child and run PR contracts for many other companies across Europe. But her passion for music she developed as a pupil at St Thomas More School never left her.

“I’m an established singer/songwriter in my spare time so working with and watching Rickie perform is always a treat,” Helen, 40, commented.

“He is exceptionally talented, good looking and has a voice, charm and easy-going stage presence that gives even the great Michael Buble a run for his money.”

Indeed, Rickie and Michael have met before at a gig in Sheffield, where the international superstar was made to do a double take as they shook hands, such is Rickie’s uncanny resemblance to the man himself.

“Swing jazz has always been my one love,” Rickie said. “I sing every day, not just Buble but all the greats such as Frank Sinatra and Matt Munro and I write my own songs in a similar style.

“I’m lucky that my voice and looks naturally lend themselves to doing this tribute to Michael Buble. Even his die hard fans seem to be impressed!”

Rickie has performed at theatre venues up and down the UK on a 50-date tour in 2011, with big events, festivals and an original debut EP planned for 2012.

“I have seen Rickie at several of his sold-out theatre gigs and the way he gets the audience eating out of his hand and up dancing in the aisles is incredible,” Helen laughs.

“He has a way with the ladies that I’m sure his Buxton audience will enjoy. A great New Year treat is in store for all those that go.”

Rickie performs with his Buble Fever band at Buxton Opera House on Saturday January 7, at 7.30pm, and appears across the UK during his spring tour.

Tickets, priced £15.50 and £17.50, are available from the box office on 0845 127 2190 or online at www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk.
