There’s lots of comedy to brighten up the dark nights this month at Buxton Opera House, with leading names in the business set to make grown men and women cry.
Coming up on Sunday, February 21, is the ‘nicest man in comedy’ Adam Hills showing why he’s won numerous awards and why his show The Last Leg is now in its sixth series.
Two Canadians will be in the house - Tom Stade and Stewart Francis.
Tom will deliver his insatiable mischief and inspired improvisation on February 25.
Stewart is in surprising popular demand with his new show Pun Gent! Known for his deadpan delivery and one-liners Stewart has become a firm favourite of comedy fans. Catch him on February 27.
For those that like a little bit of old fashioned showbiz comedy entertainment there isDes O’ Connor on March 24. The legendary presenter and entertainer will bring fascinating anecdotes and showreel clips of his career highlights.
Over at Pavilion Arts Centre, the venue which holds the monthly Buxton Buzz comedy club, there’s a night of mirth with Mitch Benn, who will be bringing his touching and inspiring show Don’t Believe a Word. The comedy musician will extol the virtues of scepticism like you’ve never heard before, in a ‘rocking show’. The performance that will make you laugh and think at the same time features Mitch’s unique evidence-based approach to life.
