First Class by James Beagon, co-produced by Aulos Productions and Relief Theatre, will be performed at the Buxton Festival Fringe in Underground Venues on July 18, 19 and 21, at 7.45pm.
First Class follows the lives of three disconnected people, each travelling on a train to Manchester Piccadilly for their own reasons. Lydia, the destitute mother; Jack, a stress-ridden schoolteacher and Rachel, a struggling sportswoman.
As each dwells on the choices that brought them to these trains, it soon becomes clear that their trips are not as innocuous as they seem. As the characters overlap with each other’s stories and even start to provide assistance, the boundaries between their trains become more and more blurred until there are no boundaries at all.
