Orange and Pip Theatre Company explore the fractious wonderland of teenage friendships in a fascinating new production by Fringe New Writing nominee Lilly Posnett, featuring three former Buxton Community School students.
After Alice will be performed in the Fringe’s newest managed venue The Market Place on July 18 and 19, from 6.45pm to 7.30pm.
As BFFs Jade, Izzy and Mia touch up their lipstick and lies before Alice’s funeral, the play commences an uncanny investigation into the everyday theatrics of the adolescent girls of the ‘selfie generation’.
“I wanted (After Alice) to feel quite otherworldly,” says Posnett. “The piece combines realistic action with physical theatre to draw audiences into that bizarre psychological world hidden beneath appearances.”
After Alice is the first exciting production by Orange and Pip - a fresh, young theatre group featuring Fringe leading ladies Annie Osborne (‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ – for which she was nominated for the Young Actor award 2011, ‘Red Red Shoes’ – winner of the Young Drama award 2013) and Poppy Forshaw-Perring (‘Maskerade,’ ‘The Last Night of Olivia Delaware’ – New Writing nominated 2012).
Tickets are only £6 (£5 concessions) and can be purchased on the door.
