Big-hearted actors are toasting their latest production by giving away tickets to anyone celebrating their wedding anniversary on the night of their show.
High Tor Players are presenting the J.B. Priestley comedy When We Are Married in three venues next week.
So if you tied the knot on November 5 – come along to the first night at Ashover Parish Hall at 7.30pm, bring your marriage certificate and ID and get in free.
Likewise you can get in free at Youlgrave Village Hall on Friday, November 6 if that is your anniversary and the same applies on Sunday, November 8, at Wirksworth Town Hall, also at 7.30pm.
When we are Married centres around three mill owners and their wives who are enjoying their silver wedding anniversaries. All goes well until an unexpected development throws the cat among the pigeons!
The production - which has a cast of 14 actors - is the latest in the revival of the company which was formed in 1937.
High Tor Players staged regular productions a couple of times a year up until 2012. After a two-year hiatus, the company returned to performing, taking A Comedy Feast to audiences in Youlgrave, Ashover and Bakewell.
Jane Small, who chairs the company, said: “‘We aredelighted that we have had a number of new members join us recently and that has enabled us to stage a larger cast play.”
Tickets to see When We Are Married cost £8 and are available from the box office, email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01629 733407.
High Tor Players welcomes recruits, either on stage or backstage. More information is available from Simon Brister on 01629 541898 or via email@example.com
