A PEAK District church has come up with a novel idea for its annual flower festival.
St Paul’s Church, Quarnford, in the village of Flash, will be decorated by flowers on a theme of ‘books’ for the four-day festival, which runs from Saturday June 18 until Tuesday June 21.
On Saturday, at 2pm, there will be a short service commemorating The Flash Loyal Union Society, affectionately known as The Teapot Club, followed by the blessing of the well.
A Songs of Praise evening will be held at the church on Sunday evening at 7pm, followed on the Monday at 7.30pm by a social evening and reunion, with an opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones.
Refreshments will be served in church throughout the festival. Books, local cards, plants, etc, will also be on sale, with the proceeds going to church funds.
