Film show raises funds for New Mills Volunteer Centre

Film fans are in for a treat with a special showing of the festive feelgood offering It’s A Wonderful Life.

The movie about an angel who shows a frustrated businessman what life would have been like if he never existed will be screened in New Mills on December 18 at 6.30pm.

The film show at the Queens Arms pub will raise funds for New Mills Volunteer Centre. There will be mince pies and mulled wine. Tickets £6.

This screening is the latest to be organised by New Mills Community Cinema, a not for profit film society which was put together by town resident Scott Buckler with the support of Visit New Mills. The cinema is a member of Cinema For All which represents community cinemas nationwide.

Future films events at the Queens Arms pub at 7.30pm include Northern Soul, with live DJ, on January 8; Gone Girl on January 29; The Notebook on February 12 and 71 on February 26. Contact
