Duncan James, from the multi-million-selling band Blue, stars in the lively musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
He plays Tick in the riotous and colourful show which is lighting up the stage in Manchester’s Opera House from August 20 to 29.
Based on the movie of the same name, the show is a heart-warming adventure of three friends who hop aboard an old bus searching for love and friendship and end up finding more than they could have ever dreamed off.
This musical is a journey to the heart of fabulous with its outrageous costumes and a hit parade of dancefloor favourites including It’s Raining Men, Say A Little Prayer, Go West, Hot Stuff and Always on my Mind.
Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical originally opened in Australia and after a sell-out two-year run, opened in London’s West End followed by Broadway in the United States. It has won numerous awards all over the world, including the prestigious Olivier and Tony Awards.
In their heyday, Blue notched up 40 Number One singles worldwide, three Number One albums and sales of over 13 million records.
The guys in the band decided to take a break in 2005 to pursue other interests and Duncan went on to star in the stage musical Chicago and became a familiar face on television, working as a presenter on Soapstar Superstar, Capital FM’s Party In The Park, City Hospital, T4, The Clothes Show, GMTV’s Entertainment Today and becoming a finalist in Dancing On Ice.
