Calling all retro music fans. If you like 70s music, then you are in for treat.
Buxton Opera House will feature three 70s inspired shows I Love to Boogie (September 27), Solid Gold 70s Show (October 6) and ABBA tribute night Waterloo (October 1), reviving the golden age of music.
Solid Gold 70s Show features a multi-talented cast performing glam rock greats, disco hits, power ballads and party anthems from The Sweet, T Rex and Queen, to Elton John, 10cc, David Essex and Suzi Quatro and more. Backed by a band whose members have performed with Mike Oldfield, Asia and Ultravox, the production boasts a superb musical pedigree.
I Love to Boogie brings to life the brilliant music of T.Rex and one of glam rock’s most flamboyant and charismatic stars Marc Bolan, with his special ingredient of ‘Rock a Boogie’ songs throughout the 70s.
For those who like the hits of ABBA, Waterloo is a two-hour spectacular giving fans the opportunity to experience the closest thing to a live ABBA gig, with all costumes, choreography music and close harmonies which the 70s supergroup are known for.
