Buxton-based Funny Wonders Inc. are offering free workshops to give people a chance to work closely with its team of professional artists and help develop its most recent performance.
The move follows success earlier this year with a sell-out Puppet Festival performance in Buxton Opera House’s new Pavilion Arts Centre.
FWinc now plan to take various performances and workshops, including their latest piece – ‘Urashima Tarō – A Transitional Tale’ into schools across the East Midlands and North West Project Manager Laurie Agnew said :“These free workshops will give a valuable insight into the way professional artists with different backgrounds work in collaboration with each other.”
The workshops, to be held at Buxton Infant School, start on Monday November 14 and run until November 18 from 6pm to 9pm.
They are looking for:
l people who are passionate about puppetry, performance and education
l young/not-so-young adults who want to earn income through performances and workshops
l those who want to help have a positive impact on the environment, by working with the group and other organisations such as the Transition Towns Network and Buxton Opera House.
